Littlemoor's Values and Ethos
Our children are the trigger for the teaching for the day. Their creativity and interest is the spark that lights the way for how they will learn. Their sense of fairness helps work out how they play and share the classroom. When things go wrong they are involved in working out how things can change, in themselves, their friends and the school. We all learn best by doing, by being involved and being responsible as much as our age allows us to be. This involvement is what we hope will keep learning and independent thinking going for children whilst at Littlemoor and beyond.
Littlemoor is also a community. We are a small place very much dependent upon the work and good will of all. Over the years this involvement has created strong bonds between families, teachers and others who have helped the school develop and continue. You are whole-heartedly invited to become involved, to come into your child’s school and to demonstrate what value you place on education.
The philosophy of Littlemoor
Littlemoor is a school in which your child will be educated and respected as an individual. It is our aim to provide an environment in which children learn to work and play together in a spirit of respect and co-operation. We attach a great importance to self discipline and high standards of behaviour. We aim to provide a rich, stimulating learning environment and strive to maintain the highest possible standards of literacy and numeracy.
We know that children learn in many ways and we encourage that learning. Some examples of the ways in which we learn through are:
- taking responsibility
- being independent
